“This is wild,” Sam murmured, circling Mercedes as she stood in the middle of his apartment. First he thought he was drunk, but then he remembered he hadn’t been drinking. Maybe he’d finally lost his mind. That was the only other reason he could come up with as to why there was a glowing, voluptuous long-haired woman in white standing before him. She said she was an angel and he had to agree.
“Wait, are you here because I’m gonna die?” he asked suddenly.
“No, you’re not going to die,” she said with a half-smile. “Will you sit down?” He stared at her a bit longer before sitting on the couch and taking a deep breath.
“Well if you’re not here to kill me, what do you want?”
This is like a revamp of city of angels, but not sad. yet.
